Information Technology ( IT ) Cell
Brief overview of the Cell:
Today every individual or society is living in a global village because of Information Communication Technology (ICT) revolutions that have been taken place in last three decades across the globe. The ICT revolution has led to information driven society and hence had catalytic role in economic development of the countries. The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (I), Tripura being a premier academic institute in Fisheries Science in the country, needs to provide easy access ICT facilities to the educators and students.
The IT cell of the college has been constituted with an objective to support the academic activities and administration. The IT cell of the college plays vital role in up gradation of teaching facilities, automation of academic activities, high internet speed required for access of periodicals, books databases etc. for the faculties and students, creation and management of college website as well as other web based IT resources. The cell is trying to foster the growth of the college by maximizing the usages of Information Technology. This cell is facilitating in-house and online meetings, classes, webinar and training programmes etc. In addition to this cell is looking after maintenance of hardware, software and internet connectivity in the college. Apart from these regular tasks, several specific tasks are also responsibility of IT Cell.
Administration related Functions of IT Cell :
- Maintenance of Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) /Mi-Fare card based access control for staff.
- Operation of Online Purchase portal (GeM), E-Procurement vide CPP Portal, PFMS, AISHA etc. of the college.
- Maintenance of 16 MBPS dedicated Internet Leased Line internet connectivity in the college.
- Maintenance of college website.
